| Implementing a green microfinance strategy enables microfinance institutions, amongst others, to offer affordable and sustainable access to clean energy technologies through customized financial products. Through a systematic approach, financial institutions and clean energy suppliers are able to establish efficient and valuable partnerships in order to develop financial products to access specific technologies and therefore, meet latent energy needs. By interlinking energy inclusion with financial inclusion, these cross-sectors collaborations lead to the achievement of a triple impact at the base of the pyramid. The present paper aims at showcasing the innovative solutions for implementing a green microfinance strategy, by providing an overview of the systematic approach conducted by the Colombian MFI CONTACTAR.

Presenter: Raluca Dumitrescu, Natalia Realpe Carrillo and Lukas Kahlen

Presentation
